Amazing! I went for lunch on a week day. All you can eat is only $7.00 for lunch on a weekday. They have the raw food you pick out and take to the grill, with the spices and sauces you want. Some selections of sushi are included, plus the salad bar, the fruit bar, and an huge desert bar. I was very impressed with how clean and open the restaurant is. I love BD’s Mongolian Grill, but hate how smokey the restaurant is, and how I leave smelling of food. This restaurant is very clean open and a great experience overall.
We went for lunch, great selection of seafood and sushi! So much to choose from, salds, fruits, the usual asian buffet foods, and even cheesecake. Two of ate and had pop for 20 bucks, what a deal. Already making plans to go back next weekend.
Truly impressive!!! I was very pleased to find wine by the glass, available and affordable, c.$3.50 and up, or by the bottle. Staff was very friendly and attentive. The layout makes the place feel very uncrowded even when there are many people there. The architect did a great job of remodeling.
The Food is good I like the selection and I loved the grill too. But last time I went, my waitress with out asking me just pulled up a chair to my table and said “whats up with you”? And I said “what do you mean”? Then she streached out her arms and asked me why are you so Big? Shocked as I was because I did not know her from beans and I said to her, “Your making me unconfortable!”. She said “Who is making you unconfortable”? I pointed at her and said politley “You are!”. Then She got up and when about her business. I finished the plate of food I had infront of me and on the way out I told the Lady at the counter “I just want you to know I will not be comming back to your restraunt”. Then she just laughed at me not asking me why I would not be comming back. So sorry I’m not going back. Man what insult to injury.
Eric had an experience not that much different from mine. They both stem from the fact the the staff there does not understand English enough to be running a restaurant in the United States in a non-Asian strictly part of town. My friend wanted to go there for her birthday, instead of BD’s Mongolian Grill which I know I like. So, I said that I am highly allergic to MSG which is used in Asian cuisine at times. In order to try and make sure, she called the place ahead of time to make sure that I could eat there. She said some lady over the phone told her that only a few things had it, but everything in the freshly made section was MSG free. We walked in and we asked again and now everything had it, then she corrected herself and said that the fresh bar had none and only a few of the items had it. So, i tried things I thought were safe. I went up to the fresh bar and asked him if the bar was MSG free he first said yes, then asked why. When I said I was highly allergic, his answer changed to a no (it all had MSG). I finally had to speak to the manager, who tried to first tell me that it was impossible that I was allergic to the spices. He walked me over and first told me that he prepares everything fresh and then that everything is prepped before it comes. Next he told me that there may be MSG in the spices. After trying to explain to him that I was not allergic to the spices, or the sake like he suggested, he agreed to give me $5 from the till. However, I tried telling him that if that was the compensation that I would just like my sake covered since I had not paid for that yet. He thought I was trying to tell him the sake had MSG. The cook had to translate for me to the MANAGER. To add insult to injury he told me that I was feeling bad because of the sake and brought me out tea to drink saying to drink that instead. Even before that, I had to tell the waitress 3 or four times I wanted HOT SAKE, which was on the menu. They also never took away any of my plates and I saw staff eating instead of clearing my plates. I have never been treated so poorly or insulted in all my life. This place needs some serious staff remodeling or to close down.
I went to Chen’s for the first and LAST time on Mother’s Day. The food was good but the service was HORRIBLE!!! The waitress completely IGNORED us and I had to go to the manager to ask for an extra chair after the waitress was asked repeatedly. This same waitress sat my family at a table that was reserved and then when we started eating, they asked us to get up and move. When we refused, that is when the service went downhill. I had to ask several times for a drink because she never offered. I finally got a chair when I asked for my money back. They don’t have to worry about me or my family coming there again and I will make sure all of my friends know as well. Because of the poor service, I did not enjoy my meal.
I have eaten at this restaurant several times and have never been anything but satisfied. I like the buffet items and enjoyed the “do it yourself stir fry” setup on the few times I tried it. Service has always been good, even when we have gone with a large party (12+ people) for a birthday. All my friends like it as well. I am surprised to hear of others’ unpleasant experiences, but I can truly say I have never had a bad experience there.
Does anyone know when they are opening if not already
