At the age of 18 Debra knew everything and was ready to take on the world! She packed up her dented Pinto and headed to the booming fashion mecca of Cleveland, Ohio. (Actually she took the bus.)
Modeling is not an easy career. It is work just like any other job. It is work where there are thousands of people that are just as good or better than you trying to get the same jobs. The training she received well prepared her and gave her the edge she needed to compete successfully! It was still tough and nothing came free.
It takes a lot of work to build a portfolio. It takes a lot of work to market yourself. You can’t stop when you hear the word “no” - because you may not be what they are looking for at that time, for that shoot or for that product. You must be versitile! You must be driven from within! There is a lot of work in a lot of nitch markets that need you!

Debra scanned from a negative sheet taken in 1983.
