Best Numbers in Saginaw

Often I look at the statistics for my website and wish I had more visitors.  But like most website owners you need some perspective when it comes to the numbers.

This morning I was doing some competitive research for my day job (Labadie Auto Company) and decided to look at some stats for my defoenet site.  I was looking at the numbers on Compete.com and here are a few things I found:

I love 360mainstreet.com and support these guys.  They sell reasonably priced advertising and I’ve considered buying some ad space on their site.  A quick look at compete.com showed:  August 2011 unique visitors = 477 and when I did an average of the past 6 months visitors it was 705 per month.

Next I decided to take a look at Review Magazine’s website. They also sell reasonably priced advertising and I’ve considered buying some ad space on their site. A quick look at newreviewsite.com showed: August 2011 unique visitors = 980 and when I did an average of the past 6 months visitors it was 959 per month.

I really expected these numbers to be bigger.  This puts things in perspective.  Thinking a little bit I was trying to come up with another Saginaw Michigan based website that might compare in traffic to my site.  Don’t know why but SaginawSports.com popped into my head.  So I ran the numbers at compete.com – August 2011 unique visitors = 1,481 and when I did an average of the past 6 months visitors it was 780 per month.  Saginaw Sports has a decent amount of advertising but I have never looked into what they charge.

Now for the big test.  What are my numbers for defoenet.com?  August 2011 unique visitors = 1,224 and when I did an average of the past 6 months visitors it was 1,090 per month.

WOW my personal website gets more visitors than some major websites in Saginaw.  Perhaps it is time for me to start selling advertising!  Anyone want to buy a banner on my homepage for $50 per month?  Let me know!  How about trading links?  Give me your website and I’ll see about writing a review and placing a link on my site.  Just contact me.

Blind Cashier

Zebco Rod & Reel Saginaw

A woman goes into Bass Pro Shop to buy a rod and reel for her grandson’s birthday. She doesn’t know which one to get so she just grabs one and goes over to the counter.

A Bass Pro Shop associate is standing there wearing dark shades. She says, "Excuse me, sir. Can you tell me anything about this rod and reel?"

He says, "Ma’am, I’m completely blind; but if you’ll drop it on the counter, I can tell you everything from the sound it makes."

She doesn’t believe him but drops it on the counter anyway.

He says, "That’s a six-foot Shakespeare graphite rod with a Zebco 404 reel and 10-LB. test line. It’s a good all around combination and it’s on sale this week for only $20.00."

She says, "It’s amazing that you can tell all that just by the sound of it dropping on the counter. I’ll take it!" As she opens her purse, her credit card drops on the floor.

"Oh, that sounds like a Master Card," he says.

She bends down to pick it up and accidentally farts. At first she is really embarrassed, but then realizes there is no way the blind clerk could tell it was she who tooted. Being blind, he wouldn’t know that she was the only person around.

The man rings up the sale and says, "That’ll be $34.50 please."

The woman is totally confused by this and asks, "Didn’t you tell me the rod and reel were on sale for $20.00? How did you get $34.50?"

He replies, "Yes, Ma’am. The rod and reel is $20.00, but the Duck Call is $11.00 and the Bear Repellent is $3.50."
